《管理英语4》是为国家开放大学管理类专业(专科起点本科)开设的公共英语课程;计3学分,54学时,开设一学期。本课程将英语学习与行政管理、公共事业管理、教育管理、工商管理、农村行政管理等专业的职场活动相结合,以真实的语言素材为载体创设职场情景,在进行英语语言基础知识和基本技能训练的同时,培养学生在职场情景下使用英语进行交流的能力。

通过《管理英语4》课程的学习,学生应能掌握一定英语语言基础知识和基本技能,具有一定的读、听、说、写能力;同时,了解管理活动中最基本的英语词语及表达方式,能在涉及与行政管理、公共事业管理、教育管理、工商管理、农村行政管理等专业的职场活动中进行基本交流;并为今后职场英语应用能力的进一步提高奠定基础。

《管理英语4》课程的教学对象为国家开放大学管理类的行政管理、公共事业管理、教育管理、工商管理、农村行政管理等专业的成人学生和具有同等英语水平的业余学习者。

《管理英语》(4)课程教学大纲

为指导全国开放大学管理类专业(本科)开设的《管理英语》(4)课程建设与教学工作,根据开放大学利用现代信息技术手段进行教学的特点和成人学生群体学习的实际需求,特制订本大纲。大纲的各项规定可作为教材编写、教学安排、教学质量检查与评估、教学资源建设、教学支持服务的依据。

第一部分  大纲说明

一、课程性质和任务

1.课程性质

《管理英语》(4)是为国家开放大学管理类专业(专科起点本科)开设的公共英语课程;计3学分,54学时,开设一学期,建议第二学期开设。本课程将英语学习与行政管理、公共事业管理、教育管理、工商管理、农村行政管理等专业的职场活动相结合,以真实的语言素材为载体创设职场情景,在进行英语语言基础知识和基本技能训练的同时,培养学生在职场情景下使用英语进行交流的能力。

2.课程任务

通过《管理英语》(4)课程的学习,学生应能掌握一定英语语言基础知识和基本技能,具有一定的读、听、说、写能力;同时,了解管理活动中最基本的英语词语及表达方式,能在涉及与行政管理、公共事业管理、教育管理、工商管理、农村行政管理等专业的职场活动中进行基本交流;并为今后职场英语应用能力的进一步提高奠定基础。

3.教学对象

《管理英语》(4)课程的教学对象为国家开放大学管理类的行政管理、公共事业管理、教育管理、工商管理、农村行政管理等专业的成人学生和具有同等英语水平的业余学习者。

4.课程的衔接

《管理英语》(4) 为英语基础段最后一门课程。学有余力的学生可以继续选学跟专业、职业更加密切相关的专门用途性质的英语课程。

二、课程教学基本要求

《管理英语》(4)课程在加强学生的英语语言基础知识和基本技能训练的同时,使学生接触并了解与职业相关的基本知识,培养学生在管理事务活动中使用英语进行交际的实际能力。本课程不同维度的基本要求如下:

1.语言基础知识

l 在词汇认知方面,应能认知4,000个左右的词汇(含前期认知的3,200个左右)及其常见短语或固定搭配,以及一定量的职场相关词汇和短语;

l 在词汇掌握方面,应能熟练使用其中的2,500个左右词汇(含前期掌握的2,000个左右)及其常见短语或固定搭配,以及一定量的职场相关词汇和短语;

l 在语法知识方面,应能掌握基础语法知识(见附录1);

l 在功能意念方面,应能掌握常见功能意念(见附录2)及其惯用表达方法等。

2.语言基本技能

l 在听力方面,应能基本听懂发音清楚、语速接近正常的日常生活和管理活动中的常见对话或其他素材,能够获取对话的主旨要义和具体事实性信息,基本理解说话者的意图、观点或态度;

l 在口语方面,能就日常话题和管理事务情景话题进行一般性交谈,交流基本顺畅,并能用简单的补救措施解决交流的困难;

l 在阅读方面,能够基本读懂所学词汇和语法范围内的短文,能够基本读懂与职场工作密切相关的语言素材,如管理职能介绍、工作总结、项目推介、业绩展示等应用文体素材;能够理解阅读内容的主旨要义、具体信息;能够根据上下文推测生词词义,基本推断作者的意图、观点或态度;

l 在写作方面,能够完成指定话题和内容的短文写作,能够进行日常生活和职场相关的一般性应用文写作(如会议议程、行动计划、活动安排、工作总结、道歉信等),格式符合规范,语句基本正确,行文基本通顺,语义基本连贯;

l 在翻译方面,能借助词典将日常生活题材或管理活动中常见英语资料译成汉语,译文基本达意,表述基本恰当,行文基本通顺。汉译英要求略低于此。

3.职场环境应用

通过职场环境下的英语语言知识的学习以及英语交流技能的训练,学生应能够参与职业环境中常见的口头和书面交流活动;能够合理运用所学语言知识和技能,模仿所学内容参与中等难度以下的管理事务情景活动(见附录3);能够在职业环境中使用有效的英语学习方法,增强英语自主学习能力,提高职场环境中的英语语言技能素养。

二、多种媒体的综合使用

本课程采用多种媒体一体化设计思路,就文字教材、录音教材、IP课程、网络课程进行有机配套建设。多媒体教学资源充分发挥交互性、共享性、开放性、协作性和自主性等优势特征,将教学内容、练习活动、助学导学内容有机结合,创造虚拟的职场环境,帮助学生进行实践练习,并加强教师对学生学习过程和学习质量的监控。

1.文字教材

本课程使用的文字教材为合一型教材,由国家开放大学出版社出版。教材涵盖教学大纲的基本内容,是学生自主学习、教师辅导和考试命题的基本依据。教材选材上注重语言材料的真实性,创设管理活动环境,便于学生学以致用;内容上集知识性、技能性、趣味性与思想性为一体。教材针对主要语言知识、技能和应用提供了相应的导学、助学内容,以帮助学生进行自主学习,提高学习效果。

2.录音教材

本课程使用的录音教材内容是文字教材中对话、课文的录音,供学生模仿语音语调、训练听力和口语使用,同时有助于加深对文字材料的理解。

3.IP课件

本课程的IP 课件为辅导讲解型, 主要讲授各个单元中的语言重点与难点、与管理活动相关的知识与技能,帮助学生深化学习内容、理解与掌握学习内容。

4.网络课程

本课程的网络课程充分利用国家开放大学远程教育云平台创设综合性网络学习环境,集学习资源、学习活动、相关知识链接、形成性考核和学习支持服务于一体。为学生发布学习任务,提供在线教学辅导以及多样化的助学资源,创造虚拟的学习和实践环境,提供教学交流与互动,促进学生进行自主学习与个性化学习。

三、教学组织建议

《管理英语》(4)课程教学的重要组织形式是面授辅导、自主学习、小组活动、论坛交互、实践教学,这些环节需要合理架构,有机整合,相辅相成,以完善教学过程。

1.面授辅导

面授辅导课要重视语言学习的规律,要视学生的学习需求和具体情况安排授课时间和次数(原则上建议8次面授辅导),面授辅导应以学生为中心来组织教学活动,既可以针对教学中的重点、难点进行适量讲解与答疑并注意复习巩固,也可以创设情境对学生进行交际技能训练,还可以对学生的学习方法进行指导。

2.自主学习

自主学习是远程教育的显著特点之一,其学习形式可以灵活多样:反复收听录音,模仿语音语调;熟悉词汇、句型结构和阅读课文内容,完成相应练习活动;收看IP课件,加深对学习内容的理解;根据单元学习目标自主完成学习任务和学习活动;阅读教学平台上的各类辅助学习资源,扩充英语语言文化背景知识和行业知识;参与网上交互活动及时寻求老师或同学的帮助;根据学习进度完成形成性作业,进行自我检测。此外,学生也可以根据自己的学习习惯和学习风格,探究使用适合自己的学习策略和学习方法,充分利用课程提供的多种媒体学习资源进行自主学习。

3.小组活动

组织传统学习小组、虚拟学习小组、班级QQ群、微信群或班级博客等来营造良好的英语学习氛围。指导学生制订小组活动计划(时间、地点、方式、内容等),引导小组成员经常讨论学习中的重点问题,研究学习中的疑难问题,进行英语语言交流,分享学习经验及方法,互通学习信息和资料,交流行业知识与工作心得,提高语言实践能力。

4. 论坛交互

通过课程论坛对学生的学习过程进行指导,对他们的学习问题进行实时与非实时的答疑解惑,并进行学习技巧、学习方法方面的指导或帮助。同时,创设在线情境与任务,鼓励学生之间进行深度交流与探讨,促进有意义的英语会话和语言交流。

5. 实践教学

课程实践教学主要是通过模拟职场活动的形式进行,旨在让学生在较为真实的职场环境中,通过管理实践工作中的较为真实的工作任务来学习语言知识,提高职场语言交际能力,建立工学结合的模式。强调理论知识、实践技能与实际应用相结合,实现“教、学、用”一体化,提升学习者的职业技能。

四、教学方法和教学策略

1.教学设计要符合学生认知和能力结构特点,有助于促进学生自主学习能力的培养,为学生全面发展和终身学习奠定基础。

2.以学生为本,注重 “教”与“学”的互动。通过选用典型活动项目,由教师提出要求或示范,组织学生进行语言练习活动,让学生在具体活动中学习相关语言技能,提高职场英语运用能力。

3.加强对学生实际职业能力的培养,强化案例教学、问题教学或项目教学,注重以任务引领型案例或项目诱发学生兴趣,使学生在模拟项目活动中掌握完成各项任务所需要的英语技能。

4.加强对学生学习策略的指导,指导学生针对自己学习风格使用适合自己的学习方法和策略,充分利用好多种媒体的课程体系,尤其是网络课程及其他网络资源。

5.正确处理管理英语知识与实践的关系。本课程应以实践为主,强调通过实践掌握商务英语。因此,在教学中要将重点放在管理知识和技能应用与实践,避免传统的以讲授语法为主的做法。

6.注重管理英语练习情景化。本课程将商务英语练习置于语言情景中,重在培养学生使用英语开展管理工作的语言交际能力和应用能力。

7.充分利用多种媒体课程体系。本课程的文字教材为主媒体,是教学内容的主要载体。音频和视频素材配合文字教材中的情景对话和听力练习。网络课程为综合性学习平台。

8、为提高英语学习兴趣并加强语言实践,可适当组织学生进行英语技能竞赛活动,如英语词汇竞赛、英语短文朗读比赛、英语讲故事比赛等,以期提高学生英语应用能力。

9、教学过程中,在突出英语语言技能培养的同时,要结合中西方文化差异,适当关注学生跨文化语言交际能力的培养。

第四部分  课程考核

一、考核依据

本课程的考核依据包括:本教学大纲、国家开放大学出版社出版的《管理英语》(4)、国家开放大学远程教育云平台发布的该课程相关教学信息与资源、网络课程、以及本课程的期末复习指导。

二、考核方式

本课程的考核采取形成性考核与终结性考试相结合的方式进行。

1.形成性考核

形成性考核为本课程的学习过程考核,旨在引导学生注重学习过程,按照教学要求和学习计划完成学习任务,加强对学生自主学习过程的指导和监督。形成性考核由2次阶段自测以及整个课程学习过程的综合评价构成,占课程考核总成绩的50%。形成性考核通过纸质形成性考核册或在线学习记录来完成。

2.终结性考试

终结性考试为本课程的学业考核,旨在检验学生学习本课程的结果和教学支持服务的效果。终结性考试由国家开放大学统一命题,占课程考核总成绩的50%。具体的试题内容、题型、结构及分值等见“《管理英语》(4)课程考核说明》”。
